I was born in England but have lived in eight countries. I think I must have some gypsy blood as I have always loved traveling and adventure! I studied languages, trained as a teacher, then worked my way around the world. Every country added something to my notion of a global family and nurtured my appreciation for different environments, cultures, customs and art. I love being in nature, whether on top of a mountain, under the sea or anywhere in between. The protection of our planet has always been important to me. Now that I have two beautiful young girls, it has become even more crucial for me to set a good example for the next generation. I'm so glad to see all the earth-friendly products on Novica! This is my first place to shop for gifts. Knowing the story behind my purchases, and having an impact on the individual artisans, makes such a difference to me and I love the little information cards that come with each product (not to mention the wrapping!)
