Things of beauty have fascinated me for as long as I can remember. My father was a pastor, and when I was a child I used to follow him wherever he went (possibly apart from funerals). I especially remember the ladies in the Bible study groups, because I would go from one to the other, checking their jewelry and judging whether it was beautiful or not. Luckily they were very nice and obviously had enough sense of humor to cope with a four year old declaring their necklaces lovely or abominable! However my passion for all things beautiful has remained, hopefully with a less judgmental attitude. A piece of jewelry contains memories, harmony and may even be a home away from home, giving me a sense of meaning and safety when I wear it.
