Italy
teacher, freelance writer, loves gardening, birdwatching
I have been living in Italy for may years but I grew up in S. Africa in a cosmopolitan environment where as a girl I learnt to appreciate different lifestyles and traditions. In this plastic world of ours I think it is important to transfer a love of old hand made crafts, social and spiritual traditions to our children because the lessons of history and the lessons of crafting are at the roots of humankind. I teach English in a high school and I try to keep up family traditions within my family. I am interested in the applied arts, I paint small frescoes with botanical themes, I write stories that I hope to publish one day, I love cooking fusion food for my family and friends because I learnt to cook Indian and Malay dishes when I was quite young, I love the artifacts I buy from Novica craftsmen because they evoke all those exotic countries I would love to visit.

I received my two shawls - "Ruffled Olive" and "Lively Lavender" this morning. Delighted with them: the design is great and the quality of the wool wonderful. Many thanks for these beautifully crafted shawls, my acquaintances are going to be so envious!
