I lived in Costa Rica as a college student for one year, in 1975, doing ecological research in what is now the Santa Rosa National Park, Guanacaste Province. Then it was untamed and the local people were so kind to me. Living in another country, among poor, hard working people, changed my life forever. My oldest daughter, Laura, 26, has lived and worked in Ghana in the Liberian Refugee Camp there. A dancer herself, she worked to assist in the development of a program to teach Liberian dance and drumming to the children there. She is now a graduate student in Tulane University's International Social Work program, in New Orleans, LA. I am proud to have her follow my steps in wanting to help the world. My youngest daughter, EveAnne, 15, is highly creative in a variety of art mediums, enhancing my desire to support the work of those who add so much beauty and harmony to our world through art, music and dance.
