Suspended from plum leather cords, a pendant carved from bull horn and painted by hand centers a necklace of rich Ghanaian elegance. "I call this design Alamis, the Mamprusi name usually given to girls born on a Thursday," says Ila Suleyman. From northern Ghana, the Mamprusi people are predominantly rice and cattle farmers who use cow hide to create various items including jewelry and accessories. This hand crafted necklace fastens with a recycled plastic toggle.
Hand-painted patterns may vary slightly.
